Christi Lisenby Hart, M.S., LPC-S, CCTP

Hi, and thanks for stopping by! I hope you decide to stay for a while.

I am Christi Lisenby-Hart, a licensed professional counselor, supervisor, and group practice owner.  In my free time, you may find me around supporting my favorite athletes with my husband by my side. I’m a certified gym rat who enjoys a weekend getaway to the beach, deep sea fishing,  a good book, and hanging with my family and my favorite mardi gras krewe in the city. I am the proud owner of Beyond the Waves of Counseling and Consulting, LLC, and therapy is my passion. 

Since I was a young girl, I have always been the person who helped her friends. I would talk to them for hours about their pain and stress in hopes of making them feel better. Fast forward ten years, and I decided to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Fayetteville State University “Bronco Pride.” This was the starting point of my career as I fell in love with the study of people and why they react the way they do especially while interacting with others. I obtained my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and began working in my chosen field. I discovered my love for trauma work while working in substance abuse and decided to obtain my certification as a clinical trauma professional. I have also taken the time to train in brain-spotting and become a brain-spotting practitioner. Recently, while working with interns and provisionally licensed counselors, I decided to pursue my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervisor to incorporate my love for educating and mentoring, which I currently do daily. I have been in the counseling field for eight years, and during this time, one thing that has rained true for me is,

“When you do what you love, it never feels like work.”
