Tia Roberts Thomas, M.S- PLPC
Hello and Welcome to the Dolphin Cove! I am Tia Roberts-Thomas, a CMHC graduate student at Walden University. I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2016 from Southern University A& M College. In 2018, I received a Masters of Public Administration from Southern University A&M College, as well. I truly believe that knowledge is power and as we obtain and pass to others, we grow!
I have worked in the mental health field for the last 9 years. My experience has been within the hospital, private practice, and outpatient mental health clinic settings, working with individuals of all ages. I have 2 years of experience within the field of substance abuse, working within an intensive outpatient facility, providing individual and group therapy to adult male and female clients. Both pathways have led to working with individuals suffering with depression, anxiety, substance use, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar 1 & 2, paranoid schizophrenia, adjustment disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity combines type.
My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Reality Therapy. As I work with clients, my sole purpose is to help my clients achieve the goals desired through self-awareness and change, as needed. I believe that our therapeutic relationship is sacred and the MOST SIGNIFICANT piece for successful outcomes. I am ready to start building with you today!
Therapy is a gift. It is a chance to finally be heard, understood and supported.
